What Our Residents & Families Say
We believe the best way to understand the quality of care at Orme View is to hear from those who experience it daily.
I have been here for over a year. I cannot find any fault with the care home. The staff are very willing to help with anything. I have nothing but respect for all staff and are made welcome, very much appreciated.
- Robert L (Resident)
Having had my dad stay at Orme View for over a year before he passed away recently, I can only thank and commend the manager and his team at Orme View for their dedication and kindness towards not only my dad, but to our family as well. We could call at any time, were always kept informed and the team were always prepared to listen to the family and to adapt to my dad’s needs as they changed over the year. The care they gave him especially in the final few weeks is so much appreciated. Would highly recommend Orme View.
- B C (Son of Resident)
My nan moved to Orme View a few months back and she absolutely loves it.
The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. I’m offered tea and cake every time I visit which is always a nice touch.
The management is lovely and they always check how we are as a family which I find really heart-warming, they do always seem to be at Orme View which is a nice touch to see.
They have a wide range of activities going on which my nan seems to enjoy as she always rings me up to tell me about what she’s been up to that week.
On occasions when I visit I hear some of the staff singing through the corridors with the residents and the songs can vary and you just know they are enjoying themselves. Such a home-from-home vibe.
- Mark E (Grandson of Resident)
My mother moved to Orme View Residential Home in April 2023, and was there until her death in November 2023. She had moved from independent living, where she had been for just a few months, but it became apparent very quickly that she had become too frail for that setting. She was assessed by the management team from Orme View, and a bed was made available very quickly for her.
While my mother did not want to be in residential care, the staff there made it easy for her, and became very fond of her, in spite of her being rather cantankerous! She was always smart, and well kept.
The care that she received, throughout her stay there, was second to none, and I would, and have, recommended it to others. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were keen for her to be happy there, rather than move her again as her needs increased. The care she received towards the end of her life was outstanding, and I would not hesitate to recommend the home.
- Sian W (Daughter of Resident)
My mum went into Orme View in June 2023 and I cannot overstate how caring and friendly all the staff are. My mum is treated with love and dignity and her wishes and feelings are always the first consideration for all the staff including the owner and management. She is always clean and smartly dressed and is very content to be a resident. The food is excellent and varied and there is usually something going on in the lounge to entertain the residents (if they want to be). Nothing is ever too much trouble. All of us feel very fortunate to be able to have found Orme View for Mum. I have absolutely no concerns about her since she moved in. I would absolutely recommend this family-run care home to anybody.

Our Family-Focused Care
Feel At Home
We have created a living environment that balances modern safety with traditional comfort. Our General Residential Home offers an intimate, 14-bed setting featuring a bright conservatory with stunning views of the Great Orme. We encourage a true “family focus” by welcoming personal touches in every room and maintaining an open-door policy that allows loved ones to visit at any time without an appointment. For those who cannot imagine home without their pets, we also offer pet-friendly residency by prior arrangement.
Professional Standards
Orme View is committed to maintaining the highest levels of clinical and operational excellence. We pride ourselves on a transparent fee structure and a person-centred approach that treats every resident with the dignity they deserve. Our facilities are fully equipped with modern accessibility features, including lift and stairlift access and a completely wheelchair-friendly design, ensuring that professional care is delivered in a safe, high-specification environment.
Local Integration
We believe that staying connected to the Llandudno community is vital for our residents’ well-being. Our home is ideally situated on Abbey Road, providing easy access to local shops and public transport links. This commitment to the local area extends to our kitchen; our nutritional programme is a point of pride, sourcing fresh meat from Poyntons Family Butcher, dairy from Llaeth y Llan, and fresh bread from Henllan Bread. This ensures our residents enjoy a healthy, balanced diet rooted in the flavours of the region.
In-house Expertise
We maintain excellent staffing levels to provide specialised support across a wide range of care categories. Our team possesses deep expertise in Primary Care—including support for physical disabilities and sensory impairments—as well as specialist recovery for those who have suffered a stroke or are managing Parkinson’s. Whether providing permanent residency, short-term respite care, or specialist end-of-life support, our in-house team ensures that professional medical and emotional assistance is always at hand.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do the two different sites work together?
Orme View is unique because we operate across two distinct buildings located within 100 metres of each other. This layout allows us to provide highly specialised environments—one dedicated to intimate general residential living and the other to expert dementia care—while sharing the same “family focus” philosophy and high standards of local management.
What makes your "family focus" philosophy different from other homes?
Our philosophy is built on local integration and personal connection. As a privately owned service led by Responsible Individual Steffan Robbins, we prioritise a small-scale, community feel over a corporate one. This is best reflected in our dining, where we reject mass-produced catering in favour of fresh ingredients from local staples like Poyntons Butchers and Henllan Bread.
Is there a waiting list, and how do we begin the application process?
As an intimate provider with only 30 beds across our entire service, availability can change quickly. We recommend getting in touch with Steffan Robbins directly at 01492 875993 to discuss current vacancies. Because we offer an open-door policy, you don’t need an appointment to come in, see the home, and pick up the necessary application details.
How do you handle medical appointments and external healthcare?
We maintain excellent staffing levels to ensure our residents’ health is closely monitored. We work alongside residents to coordinate visits from external professionals such as chiropodists and hairdressers, though these specific services do incur additional costs outside the standard weekly fee. Our location on Abbey Road also ensures we are well-connected to local Llandudno health services and public transport.
What funding options do you accept for residency?
We aim to make our care accessible by accepting a variety of funding streams. This includes private self-funding residents, those supported by the Local Authority (including arrangements involving third-party “Top-Ups”), and individuals qualifying for NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC). We provide a transparent fee structure from the outset to ensure there is no confusion regarding financial commitments.
